Jason Borrevik: Education
He moved to California after graduating Magna Cum Laude with an Economics BA from the University of Oregon in 1994.
At the University of California, Berkeley, Jason Borrevik attended law school and worked as a legal intern for the Oakland Raiders during his studies. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree in 1997.
Upon graduation from the University of California, Jason started working at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, a law firm in the Silicon Valley. He was there for seven years, working in the executive compensation and benefits group as a senior consultant. He assisted technology companies with compensation matters, including accounting, tax, legal, and regulatory issues. While in his role, he worked for some of the largest technology firms in the world, such as Yahoo and Google.
He found his niche as a management consultant in 2005. He joined Compensia after learning about it from former law firm co-workers. The company was still in its early stages, as it was established in 2003. Jason was compelled, however, by the company’s vision: to become the US’ number one independent advisor for technology and life sciences companies. He believes his transition was a smooth one, as he held a similar advisory role as a corporate attorney. Jason Borrevik finds his work technical, fast-paced, and, ultimately, rewarding.
